Welcome to this Augmented Reality experience, which reveals Korsholm Castle Mound as it was in the 1390s.

Now you can experience this place as it is likely to have looked over 600 years ago. A wooden fortress was built here at that time, and from here the entire area of Ostrobothnia and Sweden’s Westrobothnia were ruled during medieval times.

This app will guide you through a tour of Korsholm Castle Mound. You will be able to see various scenes by activating what we call the Points of Interest, which are 12 in total. When you come close enough to one of the marked spots, the scenes and story connected to that spot are activated. Filmed characters are also a feature - for instance, the bailiff of Korsholm Castle will appear. The app has been designed for users who are physically present at Korsholm Castle Mound, but it’s also possible to activate it elsewhere without the use of GPS.

During the tour, you can also collect treasures that are hidden behind what we call the sparkling stars, and learn about a range of medieval artifacts. You will get a diploma after you have found all the treasures and completed the tour!
